The Jagannath Rath Yatra this year has begun on 14^th July amidst great enthusiasm of the devotees and the Ulta Rath or Bahuda Yatra or return car will take place on July 23rd.

This grand festival of Nine Days is celebrated by taking Lord Jagannath with his elder brother Balabhadra and his sister Subhadra to Gundicha Temple on “Rath”. They rest here for a week and then the trio return to their own temple with the crowd following this “Yatra Path”. It is believed that this annual journey of Lord Jagannath with the two siblings is done to meet their aunt for a change after deity Lord Jagannath is believed to catch the high fever for a week prior to this festival.

The crowd here is just unimaginable where everyone just wishes to take a glimpse of an idol of God for the healthy and happy life. Both sides of the road are filled with people who wish to get the blessings of their beloved God.
